The University of Palermo announces the opening of a selection procedure to award scholarships for Palestinian students residing in the Palestinian Territories for the Academic Year 2025/26.

Scholarship Benefits

Each scholarship includes:

• An allowance of €10,000.00 (gross for the recipient);
• Full tuition fee-waiver for each academic year;
• Accommodation in suitable facilities, including affiliated residences.

Note: Beneficiary students are still required to pay the admission fee, which includes:

• Regional tax for the right to education: €140
• Revenue stamp: €16

Additional Services Provided

• Free Italian language courses at the University Language Centre;
• Psychological support through the dedicated service for international students;
• Ongoing academic and administrative support throughout the entire study period, including orientation to university services provided by dedicated staff.

Duration and Renewal

The scholarship is awarded for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal under the conditions specified in Article 6 of the full call for applications.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for selection, under penalty of exclusion, applicants must:

• Hold Palestinian citizenship;
• Reside in the Palestinian Territories;
• Hold or be in the process of obtaining one of the following qualifications:
  • A secondary school diploma (for applicants to Bachelor’s or Single-cycle Master’s degrees);
  • A Bachelor’s degree diploma (for applicants to Master’s degrees);
  • These qualifications must be obtained at Palestinian institutions and be valid for access to the Italian university system;
• Apply, within 30 days of arrival in Italy, to one or more unrestricted-access degree programmes (taught in English or Italian) at the University of Palermo, whose Calls for Application have already closed, and obtain admission.

Applicants who fail to meet even one of these criteria will not be considered eligible for the scholarship.

In consideration of the ongoing conflict, the state of risk, and communication difficulties, applications may also be submitted on behalf of students by institutions, NGOs, associations, or organizations involved in non-profit initiatives supporting Palestinian students wishing to continue their university education in Italy.
