Description

The research activity deals with the theoretical and computational atomic molecular and optical physics in intense fields, light-matter interactions, quantum information and problems connected with the foundations of quantum physics.

Research Topics

The following research areas are currently active:

  • Models of interactions of atoms, molecules and solid-state systems with intense laser radiation fields
  • Multiphoton ionization processes
  • High order harmonic generation
  • Statistical analysis of meteorological and environmental time series data
  • Dynamics and characterization of quantum memory, coherence and correlations in open quantum systems
  • Protection of quantum correlations in composite open systems
  • Characterization of entanglement and quantum correlations in systems of indistinguishable particles
  • Quantum state engineering and entanglement generation
  • Experimental proposals for the verification of the theoretical predictions

Funded Projects

Our main projects are

  • Controlling indistinguishability of quantum bits as a resource for quantum networking
  • Indistinguishability as a controllable fuel for quantum information and thermodynamic processes
