Applicants to bachelor's degree programmes must have completed at least 12 years of schooling and obtained a secondary school leaving qualification. Generally, this qualification must be recognized as valid for access to further academic studies in the country where it was awarded.

Academic transcripts of records certifying that all the exams foreseen for the first/second year of university studies have been passed.

Final leaving qualification from an Italian university attesting the completion of a foundation course, which compensates for the missing years of schooling.

A 1/2-years official post-secondary study qualification obtained in a non-university higher education institution in a subject related to the chosen course.

2.1. The procedure of issuing admission letter (Tutorial admission letter)
In order to get enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree Course, you must receive an admission letter from the Course Coordinator. This can be done through Unipa Student Portal by starting an Enrolment application.
Your documents will first be reviewed by the administrative office, then forwarded to the Course Coordinator for academic evaluation.
IMPORTANT: The Admission Letter you receive does not guarantee enrolment or a visa.
Be aware that the Admission Letter by the University of Palermo does not confer any right to obtain a visa. The final decision on the issue of a visa for study purposes is the exclusive jurisdiction of the diplomatic/consular Mission. The approval of a pre-enrolment request for a study course and the relating documentation produced by higher education institutions is to be considered a support for the evaluation procedures for study visas by diplomatic Missions and does not automatically grant the visa. The diplomatic-consular Missions must confirm that there is no students 'migration risk (D.I. 850/2011 art. 4 paragraph 2 ). MIUR2

The International Office will send to the Embassy only applications that have the admission letter.
3.1. Visa application procedure
The procedure may vary according to the regulations issued by the individual Italian embassies and consulates abroad.
You must complete all necessary procedures to obtain a student visa by November 30, 2026.

The embassy or consulate is exclusively responsible for the final decision on the issue of a study visa.
The documentation produced by the higher education institutions in relation to a candidate’s application for a visa is considered as supporting information in the evaluation procedures carried out by these agencies, and does not automatically imply the issue of a visa.
4. Enrolment Finalization

In order to finalize the enrolment at the University of Palermo, you must provide to the International Students Office (Viale delle Scienze, Building n. 3, I floor) the following documents in original at your earliest convenience after you arrive in Italy:
o Your original High School Diploma translated into Italian or English and legalized.
o One of the following Documents:
o Declaration of Value (DoV) issued by the competent Italian consular section, o Statement of Comparability and Verification from CIMEA

Procedura in 5 fasi per l'immatricolazione a un Corso di Laurea Triennale ad Accesso Libero
1. Registrazione sulla piattaforma Universitaly
Devi avviare la domanda di preiscrizione entro il 9 agosto 2026. Il tuo visto deve essere ottenuto entro il 30 novembre 2026. Per richiedere il visto, devi registrarti su Universitaly e caricare i seguenti documenti:
· Passaporto valido
· Fototessere
· Copia del diploma di scuola superiore
· Certificazione ufficiale di lingua italiana (livello B2 o superiore). Se non sei in possesso della certificazione, dovrai sostenere un test di lingua italiana presso UniPa
· Dichiarazione di Valore (DoV) rilasciata dalla rappresentanza consolare italiana competente oppure Certificato di Comparabilità del CIMEA
Dopo la valutazione da parte degli uffici UniPa, sarai ammesso con riserva.
Le fasi successive della preiscrizione dovranno essere completate presso la rappresentanza diplomatico-consolare italiana al fine di ottenere il visto.
Procedura per la richiesta del visto
La procedura può variare in base alle disposizioni delle singole Ambasciate o Consolati italiani nel mondo.
Tutte le procedure devono essere completate entro il 30 novembre 2026.

Importante: L'accettazione preliminare da parte dell’Università di Palermo non garantisce il rilascio del visto. 2. Registrazione al Portale Studenti UniPa
Puoi registrarti al Portale Studenti di UniPa. In caso di problemi tecnici, contatta: supportosia@unipa.it
Dopo la registrazione su Universitaly e l'accettazione, potrai richiedere il visto per studio presso la rappresentanza consolare italiana nel tuo Paese.
Le successive fasi di pre-iscrizione dovranno essere completate presso le competenti Rappresentanze Diplomatiche e Consolari. Entro il 30 novembre 2026, sarà necessario completare tutte le procedure necessarie per ottenere il visto per studio.
3. Test di conoscenza della lingua italiana
Per ottenere l’approvazione definitiva su Universitaly e immatricolarti a un corso di laurea in lingua italiana, devi sostenere un test di lingua.
Date disponibili per il test: 9 luglio 2026, 1 agosto o 27 agosto 2026
Sono esonerati gli studenti in possesso di una certificazione ufficiale di livello B2 o superiore, rilasciata secondo il sistema di qualità CLIQ, da uno dei seguenti enti, Università per Stranieri di Perugia, Università per Stranieri di Siena, Università Roma Tre, Società Dante Alighieri, Università per Stranieri “Dante Alighieri” di Reggio Calabria.
Queste certificazioni possono essere ottenute nel proprio Paese di origine presso centri d’esame autorizzati o tramite Istituti Italiani di Cultura.
4. Domanda di immatricolazione (Scadenza: da definire)
Per immatricolarti, devi avviare una domanda di immatricolazione sul Portale Studenti. Segui le istruzioni contenute nel TUTORIAL disponibile online.
5. Finalizzazione dell’immatricolazione
Scadenza: 31 gennaio 2027
Dopo aver completato tutte le fasi, potrai procedere con il pagamento delle tasse di immatricolazione.
Dopo il pagamento, la tua domanda verrà bloccata automaticamente e dovrà essere finalizzata.
Per finalizzare l’immatricolazione all’Università di Palermo, devi consegnare in originale i seguenti documenti presso l’Ufficio Studenti Internazionali (Viale delle Scienze, Edificio 3, primo piano), il prima possibile dopo il tuo arrivo in Italia:
· Diploma originale di scuola superiore tradotto in italiano o inglese e legalizzato
· Uno dei seguenti documenti:
o Dichiarazione di Valore (DoV) rilasciata dal consolato italiano competente
o Attestato di Comparabilità e Verifica rilasciato da CIMEA

To enroll to a Free access Bachelor's Degree Course the following 5 steps must be followed:
1-Registration to Universitaly portal
Your pre-enrolment application must be submitted by 9 August , 2026.
Your application must be accepted within 30 September 2026 and your visa must be granted within 30 October 2026.

***After completing step 1, if you are accepted and receive a positive response on the Universitaly portal, candidates can apply for a university study/enrolment visa at the Italian Consular diplomatic mission in their Country of residence.

You must complete all necessary procedures to obtain a student visa before 30 November, 2026.

4- Italian Language Proficiency test
In Order to receive full approval on Universitaly and enroll in a Bachelor's Degree course in Italian Language, you must sit a Language Proficiency test.
Please check the page Italian Proficiency Tests to know more. There are two possible dates to take the Italian Language Proficiency Test.
15 June, 2 July, 21 July ,6 August 2026.
The students who have obtained certificates of proficiency in the Italian language with a grade not inferior to B2 level of the Council of Europe, awarded as determined by the CLIQ (Italian Quality Language Certification) quality system, which unites in one association the current certification bodies (University for Foreigners of Perugia, University for Foreigners of Siena, Rome Tre University and the Dante Alighieri Society) and University for Foreigners “Dante Alighieri” of Reggio Calabria, as well as in convention with Italian Institutes of Culture abroad or other institutions. These certifications may be earned in the country of origin, in the approved exam centres found all over the world; The above-mentioned students are exempted from the Italian language test.
5- Enrolment Request Application (Deadline: check the call)
