The Summer School in Human Rights is organized annually by the PhD Programme in Human Rights since 1999. The focus of the School changes each year, exploring different pressing topics dealing with human rights in the wides possible sense. Each year renowened international scholars and practicioners meet for one week in Palermo to engage in lively disussions on theoretical as well as pratical problems regarding the examined topic.

The Summer School is open to students holding a first or second level Master degree, PhD students, post-doc’s and researchers with an interest in the topic and able to orientate themselves in the subject matters of the courses. We particularly welcome students from different academic backgrounds (lawyers, philosophers, political sciences graduates, economists etc.) since this allows for an open and interdisciplinary debate.
