Marco Rosone was born in Palermo in 1982. He earned a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering specializing in geotechnics (Final grade 110/110 cum laude) at the University of Palermo in 2006.
In 2011 he obtained his Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering at Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria discussing the thesis “Shear Strength of unsaturated compacted scaly clay”.
In 2012 he was Research Fellow at Università degli Studi di Palermo for 12 months during which he carried out a research about the mechanical behaviour of unsaturated compacted scaly clay subjected to wetting and drying cycles.
He is currently Research Fellow at the Università degli Studi di Palermo where he conducts research about the Innovative use of clays treated with lime as construction material in civil and environmental engineering.
Main research activity is related to geotechnical characteristics and microstructure of compacted scaly clay in saturated and unsaturated condition; mechanical behaviour and microstructure of high plasticity clay treated with lime; geotechnical investigations, monitoring and modeling of landslide.
