LM-69 AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES 

LM-69 SCIENZE DELLE PRODUZIONI E DELLE TECNOLOGIE AGRARIE

 

 

Educational objectives – professional opportunities for graduates

 

The course aims to equip students with thorough technical and scientific competences in the design, management and control of both sustainable and multi-functional agricultural production systems. It also aims to consolidate professional and scientific skills in the field of agricultural entrepreneurship, the management and enhancement of quality products and processes. It is structured to increase competences in the design and management of parks, gardens or other green areas such as technical, sports and recreation areas in the urban and extra-urban environment.

Graduates of this 2nd cycle degree course will achieve a specific professional training in the following sectors:

 - Propagation, production and defence of the vegetal, frutescent, arboreous, herbaceous, horticultural and floricultural crops;

 - Dairy and meat products from the various zootechnical species with respect to the whole chain: cultivation and conservation of forage, animal reproduction, animal farming facilities and their management in order to ensure animal health, microbiological control of hygiene and quality of products;

 - Landscape analysis, design, creation and management of parks, public and private green areas in general, urban and extra-urban environment;

 - Implementation of promotional marketing initiatives for products with specific quality traits and food safety, as well as interactive skills with the socioeconomic system through the integration and coordination of productive and organisational activities.

 

The educational programme aims to train professional agronomists able to work in various fields, and in particular:

 - Design, creation and management of companies producing, transforming and distributing agricultural products at company, industrial and local level;

 - Innovation and control of techniques for arboreous, herbaceous, horticulture and flower productions, in open fields, protected environments, and for zootechnical productions;

 - Use and management of operating machines for cultivation and facilities, of equipment for agricultural and zootechnical companies as well as for the selection, packaging, transformation and marketing of vegetal and animal products;

 - Design and construction of irrigation systems for agriculture;

 - Defence of crops and animals against biotic and abiotic adversities;

 - Design, construction and management of ornamental green areas, sports and recreational areas in urban or extra-urban contexts;

 - Nursery and seed production activity;

 - Quality control and type characterization;

 - Enhancement, promotion, marketing and certification of vegetal and animal quality;

 - Research and development of processes and products;

 - Business consultancy.
