Incoming students - Mobility
Every year, the University of Palermo welcomes hundreds international students from all over the world. International students come to Palermo on various programmes (Exchange, Erasmus, Double Degree or PhD) for a period of one or two semesters. The majority of the international students are Prospective Students, or students who study for an entire degree course at our university.
International students come also to study at our Summer and Winter School programmes around the world, with destinations including Italy, various European countries and even Kazakhstan, India and China.
The university’s educational offering for international students is split into Bachelor and Master MSc Degrees. Ten of these courses are delivered entirely in English international course.
The university’s Doctoral Research School also offers lectures in English. You will find all the detailed information on the left Menu column.
Erasmus+ intra-EU
By taking part in the Erasmus+ Programme, you can spend part of your university career studying in another EU country, gaining a unique and culturally enriching experience. The mobility programme allowing you to spend between three and twelve months at a European university.
Erasmus+ Traineeship for Incoming Students
This is the EU-promoted mobility programme enabling students to do a work placement abroad benefiting by a financial contribution.

By taking part in the Erasmus+ Programme, you can spend part of your university career studying in another Extra EU country, gaining a unique and culturally enriching experience. The mobility programme allowing you to spend between three and twelve months at a Extra European university.
Double Degree
The University of Palermo offers its students the opportunity to participate in Double Degree study programmes.
Thanks to agreements with a number of foreign universities, students enrolled on particular bachelor's, master’s and single cycle degree programmes can opt to undertake part of their studies at a partner university abroad and obtain a double degree, one from the University of Palermo and the other from the foreign university.
In order to follow a “double degree” study pathway, candidates must take part in the selection competitions published every year.
Integrated course of study (PIS)
Integrated course of study (PIS) refers to educational programmes which provide an integrated study curriculum in cooperation with other international universities and mobility periods for students and teaching staff. It has a minimum duration of 3 months and a number of credits not less than 15 CFU.
Visiting Students
A Visiting Student is a student enrolled at an external University who has decided to complete a study period or an internship at a department within the University of Palermo.
