Educational objectives – professional opportunities for graduates
The degree course provides students with a solid background in the basic and applicative aspects of information engineering, in traditional ambits such as the design, construction and management of complex computer systems and applications as well as in advanced sectors, such as robotics, artificial intelligence, image elaboration, graphic computing, man-machine interaction, artificial vision, advanced computer architectures, and network architectures.
The course is designed to train specialists in core computer research, analysts and designers of applicative and system software, system analysts, specialists in information security, computer networks and communication.
Graduates will acquire high-level technical-scientific competences for the analysis, design, construction and management of advanced information systems. These methodologies and tools provide students with the capability to quickly adapt to the continuous evolution of this sector. The relevant professional areas are:
- innovation and development of production;
- advanced design, construction and management of artificial intelligence-based software systems;
- advanced computer graphics and multimedia systems;
- robotics.
After graduation students may work in private practice, manufacturing or service industry and public administration. They may also work in advanced information technology companies in the field of hardware and software production, automation and robotics, in companies in the field of information systems and computer networks, in service companies and in the information services of the public administration.
