GIOVANNI MARRONE

Nel Semiocene. Enciclopedia incompleta delle vite terrestri

Abstract

What is the Semiocene? It is the epoch of signs, the age in which we all live, but to which no one has yet given a name. The Semiocene is the prehistory of words, the present of language, the premonition of future worlds. It is the forest in which every gesture generates a subjectivity and its cosmos, it is the labyrinth in which all life wanders and finds itself, where every form blurs and hybridizes. Monkeys and cooks, philosophers and savages, humans with animal forms and plants with rational capacities. In this programmatically incomplete encyclopedia of earthly life, Marrone ventures into the uncharted jungles and caves of meaning in search of who we are and how we tell our stories.
