Abstract

The chapter proposes a critical discussion of the notions of sustainability and sustainable development. It should be noted that the global and national policies of "sustainable development" implemented in the last thirty years have failed to stop the worsening of the planetary crisis and of climate change of anthropogenic origin at the planetary level.
