ARIANNA is a navigation system for visually impaired people; it permits autonomous movements in indoors and outdoors, uses commercial smartphones and exploits their cameras and vibration capabilites. The system uses colored lines (we plan to use invisible infra-red reflective lines in future) to provide vibro-tactile information to the user. The paths can be dynamically changed because the information on the whole graph is contained on an application server and can be easily reprogrammed without a physical redeployment.
