Il paesaggio religioso dei santuari siculi nell’area etnea: tra «acculturazione» e «porosità» culturale

Abstract

In this paper I examine some aspects of the dossier on the three so-called 'Sicilian' sanctuaries of the Palici, Adranus and Hephaestus (Inessa-Aitna) within the framework of the notion of 'religious landscape'. The paper is divided into two interconnected parts: the first examines the anomalies that characterize the three areas and determine a 're-categorization' of sacred landscape. In the second part, the focus is on the genealogical networks, which allow us to observe a plurality of competing memories. In this way, I would like to show that the religious landscape should be understood in its broadest sense as a 'cultural object'.
