A seguito della settimana di internazionalizzazione del progetto TNE New Season (https://www.unipa.it/progetti/newseason/) che si è svolta a Palermo dal 17 al 22 novembre 2025, sono stati raccolti i primi riscontri da parte dei partner asiatici di Cina (Tongji University, Shanghai, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, SWUFE - Chengdu), Sud Corea (Yeungnam University) e Vietnam (Hanoi University, Thai Nguyen University of Education e Phenikaa University) e sono state gettate le basi per rafforzare ulteriormente la collaborazione avviata.

Da parte di tutti è stato espresso un sostanziale apprezzamento per l’organizzazione e l’intensità del programma durante il quale sono state presentate le offerte formative e le principali attività di internazionalizzazione delle diverse università asiatiche e confrontate con quelle italiane (Università di Palermo e Università di Chieti-Pescara) e dell’Università Autonoma di Barcellona (Spagna) e dell’Università tailandese Prince of Songkla. Ciò ha dato origine ad un interessante confronto e discussione sulle strategie di internazionalizzazione ed in particolare sull’individuazione di modelli formativi comuni.

Lo studio di buone pratiche e la costituzione di alleanze tra università hanno costituito un esempio utile per migliorare le proposte e rafforzare le relazioni.

Una sessione, coordinata dagli Student Ambassador dell’Università di Palermo, è stata dedicata al coinvolgimento degli studenti stranieri provenienti dalle università partner (Cina, Corea del Sud e Vietnam: 18 studenti) attualmente impegnati nella mobilità incoming finanziata dal progetto New Season, i quali hanno avuto modo di trasferire la loro esperienza al team di professori e responsabili degli uffici di internazionalizzazione nelle proprie università, rappresentando i punti di forza e le opportunità delle sfide affrontate. Questa interazione tra studenti e staff è avvenuta in una maniera coinvolgente e informale e questo è stato particolarmente apprezzato da tutti i partecipanti.

Una altra specifica sessione è stata dedicata ad un focus sul ruolo degli alumni, degli stakholder e delle fonti di finanziamento esterni agli atenei.

Come esempi di buone pratiche, sono state presentate le reti europee in cui sono coinvolte sia l’Università di Palermo (Forthem - https://www.unipa.it/progetti/forthem/ e Enterprise Europe Network - https://www.unipa.it/UniPa-nella-rete-Enterprise-Europe-Network/) sia l’Università Autonoma di Barcellona (ECIU - https://www.uab.cat/eciu/, Alliance 4 Universities - https://alliance4universities.eu/en/).

La settimana ha incluso anche importanti sessioni dedicate alla mappatura delle università dei paesi target del progetto New Season, e a workshop interattivi per definire assieme una analisi SWOT relativa alla redazione di programmi internazionali congiunti e alla proposta di possibili nuove attività.

E’ stato riscontrato un generale apprezzamento per l’esperienza complessiva dell’iniziatica che ha consentito ai partecipanti di lavorare insieme in un ambiente multiculturale che ha ispirato nuove idee e strumenti pratici da sviluppare in maniera congiunta, con particolare riferimento alla progettazione di programmi didattici integrati e titoli congiunti, alla costruzione di reti tra università e allo scambio di buone pratiche per l’organizzazione diemobilità tra studenti e staff.

Infine, una sessione è stata dedicata alla formazione e alla innovazione didattica attraverso il Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), con lo scambio di esperienze e buone pratiche tra i diversi partecipanti.

Following the Internationalisation Week of the TNE New Season project (https://www.unipa.it/progetti/newseason/), held in Palermo from 17 to 22 November 2025, the first feedback was collected from Asian partners from China (Tongji University, Shanghai; Southwestern University of Finance and Economics – SWUFE, Chengdu), South Korea (Yeungnam University) and Vietnam (Hanoi University, Thai Nguyen University of Education and Phenikaa University), laying the groundwork for further strengthening the collaboration that has been initiated.
All partners expressed strong appreciation for the organisation and the intensity of the programme, during which the educational offerings and the main internationalisation activities of the Asian universities were presented and compared with those of the Italian partners (University of Palermo and University of Chieti-Pescara), the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and the Prince of Songkla University (Thailand). This contributed to an engaging exchange on internationalisation strategies, with particular emphasis on identifying shared educational models.

The analysis of best practices and the establishment of inter-university alliances served as a valuable basis for improving proposals and strengthening partnerships.

One session, coordinated by the Student Ambassadors of the University of Palermo, focused on the involvement of foreign students from the partner universities (China, South Korea and Vietnam: 18 students) currently participating in incoming mobility funded by the New Season project. The students had the opportunity to share their experiences with faculty members and international office representatives from their home institutions, highlighting strengths and opportunities arising from the challenges encountered. The interaction, conducted in an informal and engaging atmosphere, was particularly appreciated by all participants.

Another dedicated session focused on the role of alumni, stakeholders and external funding sources beyond the universities. As examples of best practices, several European networks involving the University of Palermo (FORTHEM – https://www.unipa.it/progetti/forthem/ and the Enterprise Europe Network – https://www.unipa.it/UniPa-nella-rete-Enterprise-Europe-Network/) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ECIU – https://www.uab.cat/eciu/ and Alliance 4 Universities – https://alliance4universities.eu/en/) were presented.

The week also included sessions devoted to mapping universities in the target countries of the New Season project, as well as interactive workshops aimed at jointly developing a SWOT analysis related to the design of joint international programmes and the development of possible new initiatives.

Participants expressed overall appreciation for the initiative, which enabled them to work together in a stimulating multicultural environment that inspired new ideas and practical tools for joint development. Particular importance was given to the design of integrated study programmes and joint degrees, the creation of inter-university networks, and the exchange of best practices for organising student and staff mobility.

Finally, a session was dedicated to training and educational innovation through Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), with the sharing of experiences and best practices among participants.
