MONETE PER GLI ALLEATI: LA PRATICA DEL DIE-SHARING FRA SEGESTA, MOTYE E PANORMOS

Abstract

The study of the coinage of Segesta, Motye and Panormos of the fifth century B.C. has made it possible to identify coins minted from combinations of dies originally belonging to one or the other city and attesting to the sharing of these tools. After analyzing the emissions produced by the die-sharing, the reasons that led to the choice of this coining strategy and the methods for carrying out the technical operations will be examined in detail in the conclusions.
