Abstract

This study investigates the relevance of legal scholarship to courts in U.S. by examining the citation of law review articles by courts. The first avenue of investigation is empirical and makes use of several studies on the field providing empirical support for a decrease in citation to legal scholarship in the last part of twentieth century. A second theoretical avenue evaluates different explanations for this decline.
