MARCO ANTONIO PIRRONE

Migranti e ossessione securitaria. Il razzismo e la destra in Europa

Abstract

In this contribution, Pirrone observes and explains how the obsession with security is the result of great manipulation by the dominant forces and how racism becomes the ideology useful for legitimizing, for the purposes of economic exploitation, the practices of underseating migrants. The world capitalist liberalism - argues the author - represents migrants as the enemies of the way of life and well-being of rich countries and building an imaginary imaginary inspired by the idea of a threatening "invasion", agreeing on the one hand to hide the defeat induced by neoliberal domination and, on the other, to regulate and collectiveize the native and foreign workforce. In particular attention to data, Pirrone shows that the evolution of international migration in the last sixty years is a long way from the dominant representation of the European and Western world. Particularly interesting is the reflection on the link between liberalism and fascism, understood not only strictly political but as the guiding principle of the denial and suppression of the Other.
