Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics section) in 1993, University of Palermo; Associate Professor of Hydraulics at the University of Palermo since 2001; author of more than 100 publications in national and international conferences, ISI journals, book chapters. His scientific interest is mainly focused on the numerical modelling of three-dimensional incompressible flows in different civil, environmental and industrial applications. Turbulent flows analysis with the Direct Numerical Simulation, Large Eddy Simulations and Reynolds approaches have been conducted in different processes, mainly focusing on the interactio with smooth and rough walls. Main developer of a numerical model for the three-dimensional analysis of incompressible flows using the Finite Volume and Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics approaches. The numerical model is distributed as free-software and has been fully parallelised using the MPI libraries. Member of the Senato Accademico of the University of Palermo since 2009.
