La dimensione socio-politica nel pensiero e nell'azione di Mario Sturzo

Abstract

Mario Sturzo, bishop and philosopher, was a protagonist of the early 1900’s ecclesial renewal of Sicily in his effort to find a new relationship between the Church and the modern world, Christianity and politics. Obstructed by both the civil authorities and by the clergy, he firmly believed in the utmost need of an intellectual formation of both Church and society. Regenerating the mentality of and delivering freedom to men are both essential dimensions of the same task for the sake of the social welfare of the lower classes.
