How was radical fascism consolidated in Palermo, i.e. in a provincial reality where there had been no squadrism and where, therefore, a fascist ruling class, let alone a radical one, had not been formed immediately? The essay attempts to answer this question by following the political biography of Alfredo Cucco, the leader of Fascism in Palermo who, as a former nationalist, joined the intransigent current of the Fascist party
