Studio gnomonico delle meridiane. Il cappello filtrante dell'ex convento di La Baumette ad Angers

Abstract

The study investigates an unusual and scarcely studied example of a Sundial, the only one of its kind, which has as its dial a cylindrical surface with a 'framed' gnomon. In particular, the characteristics and perculiar typological features of a particular case study are described, the gnomonic ensemble preserved in the former Franciscan Convent of La Baumette, near the City of Angers (1884, Maine-et-Loire, France). The elaborated geometric constructions and the cataloguing of existing unpublished examples implement a documentary archive for gnomonics enthusiasts and scholars.
