FABIO BAGARELLO

Preliminaries

Abstract

This is an introductory chapter meant for the reader who is not an expert in Quantum Mechanics. Some preliminaries are given, without many details, on some specific topics which are relevant all throughout the book. In particular, we briefly discuss the properties of bosonic ladder operators, and of their fermionic counterparts. Then we discuss the role of the Hamiltonian operator in the analysis of the dynamics of a given physical system, and some extended version of this dynamics, the so-called (H, ρ) -induced dynamics. We also provide two simple preliminary applications of the general framework discussed in these notes.
