Mercoledì 29 gennaio 2020 alle ore 11:30 presso l'Aula B Ed. 17, il prof. H. Rudolph, Editor in Chief della rivista "Applied Surface Science" (Elsevier) terrà un seminario dal titolo: "Publishing 3.0".
Abstract: The version number 3.0 in the title is somewhat arbitrarily chosen. The world of Scientific Publishing is developing continuously, so it is difficult to say when a new era begins and the old one ends. However, during this presentation, that is geared towards a more senior scientific audience, I will be talking about the drive and motivation behind scientific publishing, especially in the area of the applied physical sciences. The presentation will especially touch upon the new developments regarding open access, hybrid journal and (data) depositories, the so-called Plan S that has been adopted by the EU and WHO. These developments will be illustrated with examples using bibliometrics and other trend measuring quantities.  During the presentation you will have the opportunity to ask questions and make it more of a dialogue about the challenges in scientific publishing.
