Business process management is a managerial approach focused on firm’s processes, on their comprehension, divulgation, their design, re-design, improvement and optimization in order to fulfil new market needs, benefit from new technologies, satisfy new regulatory requirements and pursue specific strategic needs. The course “Business Process Management” focuses on business process modelling (BPM) techniques and, more in general, on business process management methodologies, business process reengineering and knowledge management. More specifically, in the classroom the most common techniques for enterprise modelling (IDEF0, IDEF3, BPMN), for information systems analysis and design (UML) and for process simulation modelling for performance evaluation and what-if analysis of a business process (Discrete Event Simulation and System Dynamics) will be taught. Also, throughout the course, students will learn how to use some software tools that support business process management activities
