Dr. Chiara Urone
My research interests are focused on gender discrimination. In particular, how social media convey gender stereotypes and how these influence the development of adolescents and young adults.
To pursue my research, I use an interdisciplinary approach with reference to sociology and psychology and apply qualitative methodologies typical of the social sciences.
My scientific interests are:
- Gender discrimination with a focus on the LGBTQIA+ community
- The influence of social media on psychosocial adjustment of adolescents and emerging adults
- Development of Women’s empowerment
