ONE HEALTH APPROACH TO INTEGRATED SURVEILLANCE OF WEST NILE VIRUS AND ZOONOTIC PARASITOSIS

Research interests

The overall objective of the project is to comprehensively study the epidemiology of West Nile Virus and the main zoonotic parasitic diseases from a comparative perspective, in order to identify areas of co-circulation and potential interactions between pathogens. The work aims to explore the correlations between climatic, ecological, and anthropogenic factors and the spatial and temporal distribution of diseases, with the aim of developing predictive models for planning preventive interventions. A further objective is to evaluate the clinical impact of co-infections, both in humans and animals, with particular attention to potential pathogenic synergies.
