Olsson Gustaf - Lund University - Svezia



Gustaf Olsson is Professor in Industrial Automation and Professor Emeritus at Lund University, Sweden since 2006. He has devoted his research to control and automation in water systems, electrical power and process industries. From 2006 to 2008 he was part time Professor in Electrical Power Systems at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. From 2006 to 2008 he was Honorary Visiting Professor at the Exeter University in UK. He has served in various positions within IWA, the International Water Association (Director, Honorary member). Between 2005 and 2010 he was the editor-in-chief of the journals Water Science and Technology and Water Science and Technology/Water Supply. From 2007 to 2010 he has been a member of the IWA Board of Directors. He has received the Lund University pedagogical award for "distinguished achievements in the education". The Lund University engineering students have elected him as the "teacher of the year". In 2010 he received the IWA Publication Award. He has spent extended periods as a guest professor and visiting researcher at universities and companies in the USA, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and China. He has authored six books - some of them published in English, Russian, German and Chinese - and more than 160 scientific publications.


Gustaf Olsson è professore di Automazione Industriale e professore emerito all’Università di Lund in Svezia dal 2006. La sua attività di ricerca è stata dedicata al controllo e all’automazione dei sistemi idrici, delle industrie di processo e per la produzione di energia elettrica. Dal 2006 al 2008 è stato professore part time in “Sistemi per la produzione di energia” all’ Università Chalmers in Svezia. Dal 2006 al 2008 è stato professore onorario ospite nel Regno Unito presso l’Università di Exeter. Ha ricoperto diverse posizioni nell’International Water Association (IWA) (Direttore, membro onorario). Tra il 2005 e il 2010 è stato capo redattore delle riviste Water Science and Technology e Water Science and Technology/Water Supply. Tra il 2007 e il 2010 è stato membro del Consiglio di amministrazione dell’IWA. Ha ricevuto il premio pedagogico dall'Università di Lund per "illustri successi nella formazione". Gli studenti di ingegneria dell’Università Lund lo hanno eletto “professore dell’anno”. Nel 2010 ha ricevuto il premio Pubblicazione dalla Interational Water Association. Ha trascorso lunghi periodi come professore e ricercatore ospite presso università e aziende negli Stati Uniti, Australia, Giappone, Malesia e Cina. E’ autore di sei libri - alcuni dei quali pubblicati in inglese, russo, tedesco e cinese – e di oltre 160 pubblicazioni scientifiche.
