Dear Students,

In order to expedite the admission procedures for the Master’s Degree Programme in Neuroscience for the academic year 2026–2027, it has become necessary to introduce an additional step to the process followed so far.

In particular, we have introduced a multiple-choice quiz that will be administered through the Moodle platform of the University of Palermo. The quiz will consist of 30 general biology questions to which you must provide answers.

The minimum passing score is 18 out of 30. You will have only two attempts, and the maximum time allowed to complete the quiz is 5 minutes.

Please note that this quiz will not replace the interview. Candidates who achieve a score of at least 18 out of 30 will subsequently be admitted to an interview during which we will assess their English language proficiency, their knowledge of the topics covered in the quiz, and also evaluate their academic qualifications and curriculum vitae.

Please note that applicants holding degrees outside the fields of Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, or Medicine will not be admitted to the Master’s Degree Programme, and their applications will be automatically rejected.

Admission Requirements for the Master’s Degree Program in Neuroscience

To be admitted to the Master’s Degree Program in Neuroscience, applicants must meet the curricular requirements established by the Teaching Regulations of the program, as outlined in the SUA-CdS (Single Annual Course Sheet).

Applicants are considered to meet the curricular requirements if they hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following classes:

• Class 1 (Biotechnology) and Class 12 (Biological Sciences) (D.M. 509)
• Class L-2 (Biotechnology) and Class L-13 (Biological Sciences) (D.M. 270)
• Or an equivalent degree obtained abroad, recognized as eligible on the base of the following criteria.

Credit Requirements

Applicants must have earned at least 60 CFU in the following subject areas:

• among which at least 24 CFU in the following scientific-disciplinary sectors (SSD):
  BIO/01, BIO/02, BIO/04, BIO/05, BIO/06, BIO/07, BIO/09, BIO/10, BIO/11, BIO/14, BIO/16, BIO/17, BIO/18, BIO/19; MED/01, MED/03, MED/04, MED/07, MED/08, MED/26, MED/36, MED/37, MED/39, MED/48

• among which at least 18 CFU in the following sectors:
  FIS/01-FIS/08, INF/01, ING-INF/05, MAT/01-MAT/09, CHIM/01-CHIM/12, SECS/01 or SECS/02, INF/01, ING-INF/05, MPS/02, MPS/03

Evaluation of Individual Curricula

Candidates who do not fully meet these curricular requirements will be subject to an individual evaluation of their Curriculum Studiorum. If necessary, they may acquire the missing CFU before enrollment by taking individual courses and passing the corresponding exams the academic year before the academic year of enrolment

We will approve only applications with IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, Pearson or Medium of Instruction, No EF test, No duolinguo.

The office will verify the authenticity of the certificate.
