She graduated in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Section at the University of Palermo in 2004,title of dissertation thesis:Caratterizzazione geotecnica di tipiche rocce tenere della Sicilia Occidentale. She has continued the experimental work on the mechanical behavior of soft rocks at the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Naples Federico II and at the geotechnical laboratories of the Imperial College London. In 2006, at the Consorzio Interuniversitario per la Previsione e Prevenzione dei Grandi Rischi she has investigated stability problems and cavities in soft rocks. In 2008 at the Laboratoire Sols, Solides, Structures-Risques Universitè Joseph Fourier in Grenoble she has analyzed, with innovative techniques, image correlation and acoustic emission, the crack propagation in soft rocks. On 21/01/2010 she has submitted her PhD thesis in Construction Engineering Geotechnical Section at the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Naples Federico II:Comportamento meccanico di rocce tenere: calcareniti di Marsala e Palermo.

At the University of Palermo, she was a tutor for the teaching of Soil and Rock Mechanics for students of the first and second level degree course in Environmental Engineeringand Architectural Engineering.Since 2010, she teaches Soil mechanics for students of the first level degree coursein Geology at the Faculty of Physical, Natural and Mathematics Sciences of Palermo. She is a co-superadvisor of many degree student theses. Since 2010 she is a Soil Mechanics lecturer assistant and in November 2011 she won  a concourse for a Research Grant (MIUR). She is author of papers concerning, the geotechnical characterization of the typical Sicilian weak rocks and the investigation for the oriented-structure masses  and for the evaluation of weathering process of the rock.

Based on the results of experimental research on soft rocks and metastable sands she analyzed the conditions of stability of archaeological or historic sites introducing a new interpretation of the stability conditions of the calcarenitic rock  mass of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento.

By invitation she discussed the report Valutazione dei parametri della resistenza al taglio delle discontinuità con l’ausilio del laser scanner at the MIR2012.

By this technique she has identified research innovative methodologies to the zoning of stones with different alteration levels.
