Abstract
Currentenergycrisisandgeneralconcernsonenvvironmentalissueshavetriggeredaneverincreasingeffortoonharvestingrenewableenergies.Amongstrenewableenergysources,seawaveene ergyisdefinitelytheonethathasbeenlessutilised.Thisisprobablycausedbytworeasons:i)thes strongtechnicalnoveltiesthatarerequiredtoextractthee energythatiscontainedinahighlyandstochasticallyvariablem motion;ii)thedifficultyofindasuitableelectricalsystemabbletoconverttheenergycontainedinthemotionoftheseaintoelectricalenergy.Inthispaperweproposeanapproachtosetupaggeneralmethodologytowardthedesignofaseawavefarm.Thefirststepisexplainedhowtochoosetheconversionsysteem,inthesecondstepisdiscussedtheconnectionschem meamongtheconverters,inthethirdstepisreportedacasestuddyofawholeseawavefarm.
