Ente Bilaterale Artigianato in Sicilia - Inizi, evoluzione e tendenze 1993-2023

Abstract

The work using information sources, national databases, and EBAS information archives offers a synthesis of some fundamental aspects of craftsmanship in Sicily, highlighting its territorial characteristics in a prospective light from its origins in 1993 up to 2022 and considering the structural change that occurred determined by COVID-19. The following is an original study, the first carried out in Sicily with this approach, not exhaustive of all the themes of Sicilian craftsmanship, but which lends itself, if appropriately fed, to offering dynamic visions on the evolution of bilaterality and economic change in Sicily. The report draws a clear line of demarcation between the initial phases, of which some elements of the start of bilateralism and its slow but constant development. The shock resulting from COVID-19 is the watershed between a before and an after of the EBAS organization. A new bilateralism, partially conscious, is underway to be known in all its details, allowing for better positioning in the Sicilian economic and social panorama.
