Giovanna CIlluffo born in Palermo in 1989, she graduated in Statistics in 2012 at University of Palermo (Italy), she got her master degree in Statistical Science in 2014 at University of Palermo (Italy) and her PhD in Economic, Statistical, Psychological and Social Sciences in 2018 with a thesis on Induced smoothing in LASSO regression. In 2020, she got a second level degree master on Machine learning and big data at the University of Padua (Italy). In 2016, she spent a period of visiting at the Karolinska Instituet Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM), Stockholm (Sweden). From 2015 to 2021 she was researcher at Institute for Biomedical Research and Innovation (previously Institute of Biomedicine and Molecular Immunology) of the National Research Council of Palermo.

Currently, she is an Assistant professor at the Department of Earth and Marine Sciences (DiSTeM) of University of Palermo. Her research activity in the last years focused mainly on advance in statistical analysis and machine learning with a focus on environmental impact on health. She is co-author of numerous papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
