Abstract

The essay analyzes "Goliath. The March of Fascism" (1946) by G.A. Borgese, a pamphlet in which the author leads a ruthless historical-political examination of the cultural reasons for the birth of Fascism, an indictment against the culturale vices of a nation born from the fantasy of a great poet, Dante, and a severe analysis of Italian culture overwhelmed by the ‘war party’, seduced by the ‘mysticism of the word’.
