HACKATON - Hack Your Value
We are pleased to inform you about the launch of Hack Your Value, an initiative promoted by the Department of Engineering of the University of Palermo in collaboration with Talent Garden, addressed to Master’s degree students and PhD students of the Department.
The launch event will take place on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 9:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Department of Engineering (Building 7, Viale delle Scienze, Palermo), in Aula “G. Capitò” and/or Aula Magna “E. Basile”. During the event, the initiative, the partner companies, and the challenges that will later be developed by the selected teams will be presented.
The Hackathon will offer teams of Master’s degree students and PhD students the opportunity to work on real challenges proposed by leading industrial partners, namely STMicroelectronics, Terna S.p.A., Prysmian Group S.p.A., Smartengineering S.p.A., and Fondazione RI.ME.D. Participants will develop solutions to be evaluated by the proposing companies and will also take part in a training programme consisting of weekly meetings of approximately two hours, focused on both transversal and technical skills.
The programme will conclude on June 9, 2026, with a final presentation day in front of the company juries, at the end of which the winning team will be selected and awarded a prize offered by the partner companies.
The initiative represents an important opportunity to bring students closer to the professional world, stimulate their creativity, and encourage them to engage with real innovation challenges.
Please also note that, in order to encourage the widest possible participation in the launch event, classes of the Master’s degree programmes will be suspended on the morning of May 4, 2026, starting from 10:00 a.m.
Student applications will be open from May 4 to May 11, 2026, with participant selection to be completed by May 15, 2026, and team activities starting from May 18, 2026.
The CICS will consider granting 3 CFUs to the students who will take part in.
