SILVIA CATTIODORO

Collezione

Abstract

The house represents not only the place of living, but also of exhibiting: we can consider it both a Thoreau-style refuge and a private London memory club, a world within a world. There are heterogeneous objects considered of value (sacred, secular, personal, collective) so much as to be transformed into a "collection". It is exhibited with the function of representation so that the personality and interests of the inhabitant are observed by visiting third parties, or to be enjoyed in the form of a private autobiography in a personal theater of memory between Giulio Camillo and Abi Warburg.
