Abstract

the essay is based on the work carried out by the author as director of the magazine, focusing on the disciplinary problems emerged during the previous 6 years of activity. For this purpose, the term "limit" is identified as the common denominator of the main issues. The limits to reflect on are first of all those of historiography, in relation to other architectural disciplines and to the increasingly frequent interdisciplinary collaborations. Other limits must be evaluated in relation to the degrees of depth of the research. Finally, further questions on the limits concern the chronological ranges of historiographical studies, considering the exponential increase in interest towards the 20th and 21st centuries, and the consequent decrease in research focused on the ancient and medieval ages.
