Abstract

Contemporary culture presents two extremes when it comes to nature. On the one hand, there is a desire to transcend nature’s limits through cutting-edge technology; on the other, amongst society’s most vulnerable, there is a desire to seek refuge in nature. This contrast is explored, and traditional fairy tales are drawn upon to find an alternative.
