Abstract

This paper presents a thermal model for a conical cut Ring Bar Slow Wave Structure (RBSWS) for a K-Band Traveling Wave Tube. The model examines the temperature dynamics in relation to the power dissipated by the skin effect, considering factors such as thermal resistance and capacitance. The results provide insight into key temperature variations, which are useful for thermal management of RBSWS devices, resulting in a maximum temperature of 312.4°C for an average power loss due to the skin effect of 12 W.
