Remote access

To remotely access subscription-based digital collections (databases, scientific journals, e-books), you need to belong to the academic community (ID and password) to use by choosing one of the methods indicated:

- install Global Protect (Virtual Private Network) VPN on your devices

- log in from any networked device directly to individual subscription publishing platforms, choosing, from the available options, access "via Institution" or "Shibboleth", IDEM GARR, "Italian Higher Education & Research" and selecting University of Palermo or University of Palermo - access the UniPa or Eduroam WiFi network with your devices

External users (visiting professor, visiting researcher, visiting fellow, conference, event, or meeting participants, etc.) can request the creation of temporary login credentials by writing to: wifi-support@unipa.it

In summary, access to digital collections is always possible through:

- the PC stations available in the University libraries and on the university campus use the GlobalVPN connection
- your device, via the UniPa or Eduroam network
- any device external to the university network (e.g. from home or via smartphone) via IDEM-GARR/Shibboleth or GLobalVPN

Other access modes

Some digital resources, such as “ItalGiureWeb“and“PlurisDottrina Top“, may be consulted from dedicated workstations or through user ID e PW provided by the relevant librarians. Details on access modes for each resource are available browsing the "Collections" menu of Libraries’ portal.
