Showcasing the MARE project- First Half of 2025
Over the past months, the MARE project has been actively presented and discussed at several international conferences and academic gatherings, strengthening collaborations across the Mediterranean and beyond. These events have highlighted the project’s commitment to fostering dialogue and creating a shared space for knowledge, innovation, and cultural exchange across the Mediterranean.
May 7, 2025 – Tunis, Tunisia
Within the framework of the International Workshop “Migrations: Governance, Policies and Culture”, the University of Palermo, in collaboration with the University of Tunis El Manar, presented MARE and presented the plan for future international research centers across the Mediterranean to be implemented in the framework of the MARE Project. May 29/June 5, 2025 – Tunis, Sfax, and Sousse, Tunisia
The University of Siena coordinated a series of academic meetings with the University of Carthage, the University of Sfax, and the University of Sousse. These encounters provided opportunities to present the MARE Project, exchange research perspectives, and foster stronger institutional ties between Italian and Tunisian partners. Poster PHOTOS
June 10, 2025 – Macerata, Italy
At the University of Macerata, scholars from the University of Macerata and University of Sabratha presented the archaeological research conducted at the ancient site of Sabratha, Libya. This project, supported through MARE funding, not only advanced archaeological knowledge but also offered a chance to present the broader aims of the MARE Project to the academic community. June 27, 2025 – Siena, Italy
As part of the MARE seminar series, Professor Wadid Ferchichi (University of Carthage) delivered a lecture at the University of Siena. His talk explored the role of Tunisian courts in promoting sustainability, with a particular focus on environmental protection and climate change. The seminar also provided an important opportunity to showcase the MARE Project to the audience, highlighting its interdisciplinary approach within the project’s broader framework. Poster
July 10, 2025 – Rende, Italy
During the UNIMED General Assembly 2025, hosted by the University of Calabria, the MARE Project was presented to representatives of UNIMED’s associated member universities. This event offered a significant platform to share the project’s objectives with a broader international academic network, reinforcing its impact and outreach. PHOTOS
