Abstract
The common thread linking the chapters of the book can be identified in the perspective of the sociology of political phenomena applied to the analysis of political communication and its transformations. The text is aimed at students of the degree courses in Communication and Political Science and offers food for thought to scholars and practitioners in the field of journalism and communication. The book consists of six chapters and is ideally divided into two parts. The first, consisting of the first three chapters, deals from a theoretical point of view with some central themes in the study of political communication, starting from its definition, the relationship with truth and democracy, to the risks of hybrid political neo-communication. The last part of the text, on the other hand, proposes reflections starting from some case studies related to public policy communication, the thematisation of “migration” and its instrumentalisation in political communication, and concludes with the political communication of second-generation influencers in Italy.
