L’isola sostenibile. Alla scoperta del Parco Letterario “Piermaria Rosso di San Secondo”

Abstract

“Literary Parks”, resulting from the combination of natural and human elements, are in line with the key issues of sustainability, both on the environmental level (the landscape is not altered but enhanced), that social (cultures and traditions are valued in an inclusive way) and economic (the tourist offer is implemented). In accordance with the green transition, synergies also develop between the management of cultural heritage and the local authorities, creating new professional figures. Our research project, centered on the Sicilian territory and its rich artistic heritage, aims at the reconstruction of the relationships between literature and landscape in some authors of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and the joint analysis of the territory, its cultural memory and its structures, also to encourage some deficit areas. The entire map of regional realities showed the great potential of the island, which can boast twelve literary Parks, but also some structural weaknesses. This paper, in particular, gives an account of the less known area of the island hinterland, through the proposal of some itineraries in the literary Park “Piermaria Rosso di San Secondo”.
