Abstract
Elisa Loncón Antileo, a distinguished Mapuche intellectual and politician, played a central role in the Chilean Constitutional Convention of 2022. Her contributions to the Assembly were characterized by a profound emphasis on addressing the violations of indigenous identity and advocating for its recognition. This study is anchored in the pragmatic linguistics framework developed by Fuentes RodrÃguez, complemented by argumentation theory and analyses of contemporary political discourse, with specific reference to Fuentes RodrÃguez's works (2016 and 2018). Additionally, due to the interdisciplinary nature of the research, it incorporates insights from studies on identity (Buscholtz and Hall, 2005; Spencer-Oatey, 2007), social image (Fuentes RodrÃguez, 2013b), and framing theory (Entman, 1993; 2007).
