Cittanova, Parco Foresta

Abstract

The forest-park of Cittanova, designed by Michelangelo Pugliese in the Plain of the Olive Trees, transforms an ancient olive grove seized from the mafia into a new 16-hectare public space. Through essential gestures – the planting of trees, soil restoration and the creation of paths and clearings – the project restores a regenerated landscape, where nature and community intertwine in a shared ecosystem of memory, light and silence.
