Abstract

The contribution outlines the reasons behind and structure of the volume Itinerari di Architettura del Paesaggio , highlighting some of the pressing issues that studies on landscape and its architecture must address in our time. Among these is the role of design within urban space; design which, on the one hand, seems to want to escape any formal imposition in order to follow the evolutionary processes of species in its definition, while on the other hand continuing to aspire to generate poetic, expressive and functional places.
