Strabone, precursore della geografia moderna

Abstract

During the classical Roman age Strabo represented the highest expression of geographical science. In this paper, an attempt will be made to make some reflections to attribute to Strabo the title of pioneer for geographical studies on three directions: the idea of the Earth in geographical description, didactics, and cultural geography.
