Into the Diagram. On the Legacy of Gilles Châtelet Between Pragmatism and Mathematics

Abstract

The project of this volume of the European Journal of Pragmatism and American Philosophy is grounded in a robust philosophical dialogue between the French philosophy of mathematics and pragmatism. This dialogue has some historical roots in the well-studied correspondence between Bergson and James, in Peirce’s semiotic turn in knowledge, and in the alliance between post-structuralist philosophy and the anti-Cartesian approach of classic pragmatists.
