Seneca in Svetonio: tra ostilità e aneddotica

Abstract

The essay offers a survey of the presence of Seneca in Suetonius, with regard both to the explicit mentions of the historical character and to possibly implicit allusions to the philosopher's writings. An evaluation of how Suetonius can be used in order to illuminate some Senecan passages rounds off the paper.
