Abstract

Drawing can be considered a suitable tool to describe the forms of vanished architecture or greatly altered by natural disasters? What are the reasons for fixing in time the effects of a disastrous event on built architecture? Starting with a group of drawings preserved in the Regional Gallery of Sicily in Palermo, dating from the first half of the 19th century, the contribution intends to question the function and significance of these representations.
