Due disegni di Gaspare Guercio per la decorazione della cappella dell’Immacolata Concezione nella chiesa di San Francesco a Ciminna

Abstract

The essay analyzes two drawings attached to a notarial document dated November 30, 1639 and executed by the Palermitan architect-sculptor Gaspare Guercio from Palermo. These drawings pertain to the decoration project for the chapel of the Immaculate Conception in the church of San Francesco d’Assisi in Ciminna, which was recently reconstructed. Both drawings depict the chapel in section and provide a concise representation, through sketches, of the decorative elements to be realized, integrating the information contained in the contract.
