Il disturbo da ansia sociale nella società dell’incertezza: analisi del fenomeno in una prospettiva psicopedagogica - Social Anxiety Disorder in a Society of Uncertainty: A Psycho-Pedagogical Analysis of the Phenomenon
Abstract
The fears and uncertainty that characterize the 21st century have contributed to complex psychological responses, often manifesting as pathological anxiety, which arises without a proportionate cause. Multidisciplinary research into anxiety disorders, particularly Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), supports an approach that integrates both psychological and environmental factors. Given the significant role of context and primary educational agents, this study aims to explore the correlations between parenting styles and the onset of social anxiety disorders in adolescents and young adults. The goal is to gather data that can inform prevention strategies and therapeutic interventions, ultimately improving quality of life.
The first phase of the project involves a systematic review of international literature on SAD, with special attention to studies conducted in cultural contexts different from the Italian one, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the disorder and its prevalence. Subsequently, a heterogeneous sample—diverse in gender, background, and age—will be selected from major social contexts. Using selected tools, the study will assess perceptions of parenting styles and context-specific features. Finally, data analysis and interpretation will be carried out to formalize the findings. The aim is to offer a detailed examination of the issues related to SAD and answer key questions concerning the influence of parenting styles and cultural context on its onset, as well as suggest strategies to enhance the well-being of those affected.
